Thoughtful viticulture

In the vineyard, we practice thoughtful viticulture, giving paramount importance to respecting the soil, local flora and fauna. The addition of organic and biological fertilizer stimulates soil life (bacteria, insects, earthworms). Seedlings of different plants improve the life of the soil.

Natural grass cover

In the rows, you will be able to observe the presence of grasses, flowers, it is the controlled natural grassing, it contributes to the balance of the vines, it absorbs excess water, accelerates the maturation of the bunches, protects and develops biodiversity, provides shelter for small and large animals.

Manual labor

Many manual works follow one another during the year: pruning, binding or arching, disbudding, trellising and stripping remain manual, we voluntarily limit mechanization to less compact the soil by the passage of tractors.

reasoned protection

The reasoned protection of the vineyard allows us to protect the vine from the attacks of diseases only at the most critical and sensitive moments. Through precise meteorological monitoring and sharp observations in the vineyard, treatments are limited to 3 or 5 applications (depending on the dry or wet year) compared to 8 to 10 for conventional viticulture.

Against parasites

To protect the grapes against parasites called grape worms, two methods are applied:

- either a spray of bacteria which parasitize the larvae which prevent the caterpillars from feeding.

- either by placing capsules diffusing pheromones: this is the fight by sexual confusion. A cloud or fog of hormones from the female butterfly prevents the males from finding a "mate". So no egg laying, no damage. This treatment is 80-90% effective.

Throughout the vineyard, maximum attention is paid to the protection of auxiliary or "useful" fauna, thus many rarefied species meet again, compared to 25 or 30 years ago.
